Corporate Responsibility

June 2017

Since Sandstone Technology was founded in 1996, we have embodied the true spirit of corporate social responsibility (CSR), by giving back to the world just as it gives to us. Sandstone has made sure that our CSR company policy and ultimately the culture it fosters is rooted in the values of service, integrity, and taking personal responsibility for our actions, outcomes, and reputation, taking into consideration the people, values, nature and even other organisations.

This policy applies to all staff within our company and its subsidiaries. It may also refer to suppliers and partners.

Legal & Business Ethics

Sandstone is committed to conducting ourselves in a legal, ethical and trustworthy manner. This means upholding our regulatory obligations, and complying with both the letter and spirit of our business policies.

We conduct business with integrity and respect to human rights. We promote safety, fairness, equality, respect and transparency in relation to our customers and suppliers. We have adopted anti-bribery and anti-corruption practices across the group.

Underpinning Sandstone’s CSR Policy is a set of core polices that outline our approach and guide our activities. These policies include:

  • Code of Conduct Policy
  • Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Policy
  • Workplace Diversity Policy
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy

In keeping with these policies Sandstone ensures that we also:

Protecting People

We take our responsibility to protect, support and prepare our workers seriously. We focus on providing opportunities and resources to our workforce, and leading by example in areas such as: workplace safety, health and wellness, diversity and inclusion, training and development. We believe in creating opportunity for all employees and are committed to equal employment opportunity, the protection of human rights, and the prevention of human trafficking. We ensure that our activities do not directly or indirectly violate human rights in any country (e.g. forced labor).

Providing Equal Employment Opportunity

Sandstone Technology protects the employment rights of qualified applicants and employees regardless of race, colour, sex, age, religion, national origin, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity/ expression, disability, and/or other protected categories under applicable laws.

Engaging Responsibly

We value teamwork and work in partnership with other organisations to have a positive impact on the communities where we live and work. We also seek to engage with suppliers who adhere to socially responsible business practices.

Protecting the Environment

Apart from legal obligations and making sure business is conducted in keeping with ethical standards, Sandstone proactively protects the environment and contributes to the betterment and development of the community through different activities or programs.

Sandstone recognises we have a shared responsibility to protect our planet. Because of that, we endeavor to, where possible, minimise our environmental impact and actively promote measures to reduce our ecological footprint, including:

  • Resource Conservation
  • Waste Reduction
  • Recycling
  • Travel Reduction
  • Using environmentally friendly technologies.

Supporting the Community

Our company may initiate and support community investment and educational programs. Some possible means are through support to nonprofit organisations or movements to promote cultural and economic development of global and local communities, or partnership with vendors or other members of the community.

Sandstone may allocate a budget for monetary donations that will aim to advance research, education and community events as well as alleviate those in needs.

Supporting Learning & Research

We actively invest in R&D and staff training programs. We will be open to suggestions and listen carefully to ideas. Our company will try to continuously improve the way it operates.

We are individually and collectively accountable for upholding our CSR commitments. We encourage participation across our organisation, and we will work with external stakeholders to continually support our workforce, improve our workplaces, contribute to the communities we serve, and ensure our actions are socially, ethically, and environmentally responsible.
